Surf / Sea State: slight to flat
Air Temperature: 20
Sea Temperature: 15
Weather: sunny
Max Speed: 21.2 (knots - unless stated otherwise)

It was too good an afternoon not to give it ago.Arrived at the dip at 4 and there was 6 kiters out going slowly,so I rigged 9.4 on the longboard to go for a cruise along the shore in the onshore breeze.I could just manage to get up on the plane with the dagger board down. After crossing the shipping channel at the docks decided to venture abit further and ended up in the marshes behind Frinton,8 miles from the dip. Here I discovered a kitesurfers/speedsailers dream a huge area of flat water over a mile in length and had great fun blasting up and down past the yachts and motor cruisers!!!I think I need to find a friend with a boat to take the kites and short boards over !!!
To make the session even better on the way back came across Mark S out with his formula gear and his new point 7 11m race sail-I again left him for dead on the way back to the dip(longboards rule) to be fair the wind had gone very light by now and I struggled the last mile back.A great 2hrs and 20 miles covered.
